Under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021, gratuity is based on your basic salary. You earn 21 days of basic wage for each of the first five years of service and 30 days for each year beyond five. A minimum of one year of continuous service is required, and the total is capped at two years’ wage.

No. Under the 2021 law, gratuity for an employee who has completed at least one year is calculated the same way whether you resign or are terminated — there is no reduction for resigning.
